Intertwined - Parent/Carer and Child Sessions - Makaton Session

Parent/Carer and Child Sessions - Specifically for those whose speech and language is delayed

The session will be based around Makaton and follow this structure:

Introduction

Usually involving a game incorporating greetings and the Makaton alphabet, signing initials of names

Finger/Hand Mobility

Warm up the hands and fingers and engaging the brain

Themed Weeks

Learning various signs to fit with a specific theme e.g. weather / farm animals / emotions / question words etc.

Makaton Song Sessions

Learning Makaton signs to different songs, this is a great way to pick up lots of new Makaton signs in a fun way.

Closure

Hand massages/stretches, good-bye, thank you and emotion signs for feelings.
